The Denver Broncos and Atlanta Falcons (2-6) are both coming into next Sunday's game a little battered and anxious. Weariness is to be expected as both teams have had quite the hard stint against their opponents so far.
Yet, the Falcons seem to be the team that underperforms the worst of the two. Even though they have just pried away a victory from the Carolina Panthers, which has definitely bolstered morale in their camp, Raheem Morris' squad is in what we could best describe as disarray.
On the other hand, we have the Denver Broncos who lost heavily to the Kansa City Chiefs (43-16), but secured two victories against the New England Patriots and the New Jersey Jets.
Overall, both teams are matched with two wins and three losses over their last five games, which suggests some sort of balance, but the Falcons are given around a 64.6% chance to win.

Atlanta Falcons Fresh out of Victory
The Falcons are the better of the two teams at least on paper. Their offense allows them to score 26.1 points per average, but then again, their defensive lineup is lacking with 28.0 overall points allowed per game. That is not ideal, and it will certainly invite trouble.
Yet, Atlanta seems to be able to pressure opponents more, which should have the Broncos on the fence before long. The Falcons have some heavy hitters this season, and the team is definitely just finding its pace still.
Yes, 2-6 in the overall standings isn't really reassuring and the Falcons are bringing up the rear in NFC South. However, they also have a pretty decent squad. Quarterback Matt Ryan posts some 2,426 passing yards so far with 66.8% completion.
Wide receiver Calvin Ridley has scored 6 touchdowns in eight games played and he has clocked extra 657 receiving yards for good measure. Unfortunately, as of November 1, his return for next Sunday's game is still questionable, after he suffered an ankle injury against the Panthers, putting the Falcons in a pickle.
Then you have the running back, Todd Gurley II, who has 531 rushing yards. The team has the better total yards (416.4), but Atlanta also allows more yards than their opponents (423.0).
Should Ridley skip this game, Atlanta may be looking at another loss, depending on how powerful the offense proves.
Denver Broncos Ready to Bounce Back after the LA Chargers
Following a contested game with the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos are heading to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for a shot at improving on still flagging performance.
The Broncos have played fewer games, too, and still have a chance to break away from a similar position to the Falcons.
One thing we love about Denver is their ability to adapt and rotate players. Coach Vic Fangio has been loath to rely on a single player per position and has instead shifted his players, making sure they get proper mileage each.
You may argue that a top-tier team wouldn't rely on just anybody, but Fangio may have felt that his team is going to struggle against opponents this season. So, why put all the pressure on a few guys and wait for them to get injured and replaced by someone with less experience?
As a result, Denver has produced quite a few decent quarterbacks, to name Drew Lock (679 receiving yards), Jeff Driskel (432 receiving yards) and Brett Rypien (295 receiving yards). The sum total isn't too impressive, a total of 1,406 receiving yards, so Denver definitely can work to improve in that department.
It's great to have a multi-player approach, but ultimately, finding those players that will push the team forward is what matters. Linebacker Alexander Johnson has 46 tackles so he has been consistently fielded time and again.
Wide receiver Tim Patrick has 354 receiving yards and running back Melvin Gordon III is looking at 349 rushing yards. So, what's the takeaway here? Denver has to start ramping up those numbers and morph them into powerful offense if the team wants to make it against the Falcons.
What's the Best Pick?
This one is hard to pinpoint. The Broncos seem to be the more consistent and adaptable team. The Falcons are down Calvin Ridley and we feel that it's going to be either a bet on the Moneyline for Denver or U 47 on the Totals.
